Vaccine sieve analysis is the study of whether and how vaccine efficacy depends on the genetics of the infecting pathogen. My work is in developing machine learning methods for helping to answer such questions.

I develop statistical tools that allow machine learning techniques to be used to draw robust inference about causal effects of interventions.
I enjoy providing statsitical support to a wide variety of applied studies, including cardiovascular epidemiology, neurology, pediatric medicine, and health economics.

I am interested in developing scalable statistical methods that can be used to draw valid inference in Big Data and streaming data applications.
